End of November 2021 – It was announced that the unemployment rate in South Africa had risen to 34.9%, the highest statistic of unemployment South Africa has ever had before. These figures were released by Stats SA.

The unemployment rate increased by 0,5 of a percentage point in the third quarter of 2021 compared to the second quarter of 2021.

Statistics South Africa known as Stats SA is the national statistical service of South Africa with the goal of producing timely, accurate and official statistics, in order to advance economic growth, development and democracy. 

Stats SA vision is to improve lives through data ecosystems and transform the production, coordination and use of statistics through optimization, partnerships and innovation.
